Happiness is...
Positive feedback. It's the time of the year for a mid-year evaluation. And I love it. I know I'm rare in this manner, but it's the truth.
I am an achiever. I thrive off receiving feedback, implementing it, and growing. I love professional development and I value objective measures of performance. I also could use a good pat on the back every now and then. Couldn't we all?
Today the mid-year evaluation went quite swimmingly. I am leaving the semester with a smile on my face and a spring in my step. Hello winter break. Hello competency. Hello continued success.

In this immediate, internet world it is so easy to go through the motions and become completely anonymous. Then someone takes you off guard and writes back. It's a little beacon of hope---"I see you, I know you're there... And I'm here too!"
Comments are a sweet reminder that you matter, at least to somebody. So thanks, somebody :)

Yikes, my body.
Happiness is...
When you get complimented on your weight loss... even though it's been two weeks since you worked out. Story of my life. I WILL get back into my groove soon (just like I WILL go grocery shopping soon), but until then I'll continue to soak it up that my body hasn't taken a turn for the worse just because I've neglected it a little. Some days I worry.
Who am I kidding? I worry almost every day I'm alive and breathing. But, bottom line, I'm motivated to keep this up.
