Themed parties.

Collecting food that coordinates, decorations, games... it makes the night seem like one fluid event. It connects us to their world, and really it takes us into a different place entirely. It's cute, fun, and just happy.

Animated awesome

Happiness is...

Children's movies. I love animation. And I extra love it when people burst into song. That's why I will hold on to Disney til the day I die. Luckily, they are still making a good one here and there... sure, they've evolved to computer animation and adult humor, but sometimes I strike gold and there's an all-ensemble song and dance. Today, I watched Rio. My head bobbing, a smile creeping across my lips, I felt like a child again. If I don't find another one like that I just might break out Aladdin and Little Mermaid on DVD. Yeah, that's the life... singing along to my movies, dreaming of being a princess too. Don't judge.

Whale Spouts

Happiness is...

Whale spouts. I mean, babies are cute to begin with! Put a little flailing ponytail on the top of their head and it's simply magical.

When I was younger I used to wear a whale spout. For years. It was my recipe for comfort. When my mom was out of town and my dad tried to take care of it I would wail with despair. Now, I'm past that. But my goddaughter sports the perfect little do! I love it.

Happiness is...

Baby animals. They're ALL so adorable!

We have an enclosed courtyard at the school I work at, and there is a family of ducks living inside of it (babies can't fly til 7 weeks). It provides basically an observation deck for the family interaction, and I'm enjoying it thoroughly! I only wish we could do a better job of taking care of them... for the time being, I will watch the action!

After all, this is the time... the end of spring and beginning of baby season. Kittens, puppies, goslings, ad now ducklings. Just wonderful.

Fun with fowl

Happiness is...

Children and seagulls. It's truly one of the best combinations. Add a box of popcorn and you have a recipe for an amazing afternoon. So they weren't my children... That doesn't make it any less cute to see them running into the swarm, chasing birds up into the sky!

Maybe I was a little concerned when the gulls chased them back, but hey, I'd do a lot of things for a good handful of popcorn as well. Here we are on our grand trip to the north shore, finding the little things to entertain ourselves. Until tomorrow!

New, cheap, cute boots. Thrifting can turn up some of the greatest treasures, like my new burgundy suede boots. Don't you wish you could see me in them? The answer is yes, yes you do.
