Happiness is...
Underwear. Tonight we went to the history center for a free outdoor concert and while we were there we checked out the exhibits... about the depression, minnesota, and underwear. It was interesting to see how far we've come in the last century, and my appreciation for it grew tenfold! I gave my underwear far too little credit. It comes in all shapes and sizes, many fabrics, and wonderful colors. That's my story, in brief... ;)
Speaking of outdoor concerts, did I mention my affinity for them? I sure will miss summer in the cities.

When you're feet are cold as you crawl into bed. Nothing says sleep tight like wrapping yourself in a warm cozy blanket... And in the middle of the summer it's best with cold feet, you know? Mmmm I'm just gonna let myself get comfortable now. Buenas noches!

Rain=Relief
Happiness is...
When the rain breaks the heat; in a hot mid afternoon, it sometimes gets hazy on the horizon. People can begin to lose hope, and then suddenly... downpour. Relief. Haze watered down by nature's bliss.
On a day like today, we deserved it.

Air Conditioning
Happiness is...
Air conditioning. I never realized how good I had it until it was gone, and now I'm sitting at work sweating through my t-shirt, eagerly anticipating the moment I get home and can crank it up. Heat index of 115 and no a/c at school OR on the commute? No thank you. What the heck, mother nature?! Relief comes in T-minus two hours!

Beach
Happiness is...
The beach. Sunny sandy wonderful. It's the great combination of soaking up some Vitamin D and soaking in the water just having some fun. And yes, I was even there today. Heat index of 115 can't get me down!
We drove with the windows down, we splashed around and spread our towels out wide, and we left very happy.
p.s. the beach is my absolute favorite spot to people watch, if you were wondering...

Skinny Cow
Happiness is...
Skinny Cows. Yummmmmm!
No, I don't encourage starving your livestock. I'm referring instead to the low cal ice cream bars, guilt free desserts... They're a great invention, and they make my life and little indulgences so much better :) They come in classic vanilla, mint, cookies and cream, and many others. They melt in your hand and you're left licking off each fingertip. Don't worry though, I'm usually smiling when I do so!
I recommend them if you get a chance to wander through your local freezer section, summer will be easier. Just trust me.

Sunshine
Happiness is...
The way the sun feels on your skin after a long and cold and rainy week. In fact, you begin to have a whole new appreciation for sunshine... and vitamin D... and a little tan. I wish I could just lay outside and soak it up before it disappears again. Knowing the summer we've had, it's bound to happen.

Garage sales
Happiness is...
Garage sales. In my hometown we used to have a weekend dedicated to the city, with events, and specials, and garaaaage saaaaales. Mmmm. Unfortunately, it occurs in September and I will be unable to attend due to GRAD SCHOOLZ. Fortunately, now that the sun is out the season of garage sales will be ongoing for the next few months! Wooo :)
Today I got an air popper for popcorn. I spent a dollar. I am so excited. I love popcorn. The end.
Long story short: I love garage sales, where you find random treasures, hilarious junk, and much more. A story behind every one. Garage sales <3

Walks at the lake.
Free museum nights.
Wandering around the cathedral.
Going roaming downtown.
Free movies or outdoor theater.
Beachbeachbeachbeach.
Art fairs and farmers markets.
SUN!
Tomorrow's memorial day. And it all begins <3
One of the many things I'll miss about living in the Twin Cities.
Yesterday we went for a walk around Lake Harriet, and explored the gardens, and had a mini picnic from a lemonade stand... :) Today we went to the sculpture garden and walker. I like weekends like this, they should happen more often. Weekends.like.this.are.happiness.
